
By combining on-ground property data, GPS tagging and drone imagery, officials identified cases where property owners had paid less tax, on average, over the past five years.

The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has detected property tax underpayment amounting to around ₹318 crore from 13,600 properties during the second round of its GPS-based property survey and special house-to-house verification.
In its first phase, the authority had detected property tax evasion amounting to around ₹370 crore covering about 10,000 properties across the city. The total recovery process now covers 23,600 properties involving about ₹688 crore.
