While Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are required to distribute two copies of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) enumeration form to every voter, residents in areas such as Basavanagudi and Basaveshwar Nagar have alleged that the BLOs handed over only one copy, obtained their signatures on blank forms without allowing them to fill them, and took the forms back.Gajendra, a school bus driver and voter from Srinagar ward, said he received a call from the BLO asking him to come to his old address to collect the forms for him and his mother. Both his old and current residences are in Basavanagudi.“Our BLO gave the form and asked us to sign it. After taking our signatures, he took the form back. Later, when I checked with my friends, I came to know it was for the SIR and that each person was supposed to receive two copies of the form and fill in them properly,” Mr. Gajendra said, adding that several residents in the area had a similar experience.A similar instance was reported from Basaveshwar Nagar, where a woman said that the BLOs told her they would fill in the forms themselves and that she only needed to sign them.The Hindu reached out to the BLOs for their response but did not receive one.
